Record LP Vinyl Cleaning - What is Ultrasonic Cleaning

vinyl cleaning service morecambe

Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves to create bubbles that agitate a liquid and clean surfaces. Ultrasonic cleaners generate high-frequency sound waves, which are transmitted through a liquid. The sound waves create compression and expansion cycles in the liquid (known as cavitation), which forms tiny bubbles or "voids" during the expansion cycle. The bubbles collapse during the compression cycle, creating a powerful scrubbing effect. The implosion of the bubbles pulls contaminants away from the surface being cleaned.

Ultrasonic cleaning is effective at removing dirt, grime and residue from a variety of surfaces. It can reach areas that are difficult or impossible to clean with other methods. We offer an Ultrasonic Deep Cleaning Service for 12" to 7” vinyl records to ensure dirt, grime and residue is removed. After the cleaning cycle, the vinyl is air dried and placed in a brand new inner liner before the original sleeve as the original sleeve could contain contaminants. If after cleaning, some clicks and pops you may be hearing could be actual defects in the vinyl as a result of poor manufacturing processes and not actually caused by dirt, grime or residue. These manufacturing defects cannot be solved by ultrasonic cleaning or any other cleaning method.
