We specialize in used and faulty Pioneer decks, controllers and mixers as these tend to be more popular than other brands, however, we also buy many other brands, such as Technics, Denon, Numark and Rane etc. We will also buy other pro audio equipment such as keyboards and synthesizers based on its popularity and current market trends.
The price we offer will depend on the current value of the item, its popularity, its condition and whether it includes the power adaptors and cables, original box and inserts, user manuals and any other extras such as decksavers, carry cases or flight cases.
When filling out the form, please be as accurate as possible. If we offer you £500 for a controller in good condition and we receive it with missing knobs and a snapped volume fader, we will not be able to pay you the £500 we originally offered, we will adjust the offer accordingly. All equipment we receive is tested and graded against our criteria and as long as it matches what you told us, you will receive the amount we offered for it. Our grading criteria is based on its cosmetic condition, functionality and the accessories that are included, and is graded as follows:
-
Grade A) – Equipment condition is like new. No scratches or marks are present on the equipment and all accessories that it would have originally come with, including the original box, inserts, cables and any user manuals are included.
-
Grade B) – Equipment condition is good. Minor surface scratches that are not obviously noticeable are present and all accessories that it would have originally come with, including cables and any user manuals are included. Box is not required although if you have it, the value will reflect this.
-
Grade C) – Equipment condition is used. Visible marks, scratches or scuffs are present and all accessories that it would have originally come with, including cables and any user manuals are included. Box is not required although if you have it, the value will reflect this.
-
Grade D) – Equipment condition is used. Visible marks, scratches or scuffs are present and some knobs or fader caps are missing or loose. Some accessories are also missing such as cables and any user manuals. Box is not required although if you have it, the value will reflect this.
-
Grade E) – Equipment condition is used and fully working, but it has sustained liquid damage. Box is not required although if you have it, along with any cables for it, the value will reflect this.
-
Grade F) – Equipment condition is faulty. Box is not required although if you have it, along with any cables for it, the value will reflect this.

We will get back to you with a quote based on the condition, value and popularity.

If you are happy to proceed. Pack up your equipment in a stiff box with plenty of bubble wrap to protect it in transit. Don’t leave any gaps in the box as it may move around inside the box if the courier turns the box upside down during transit. If you still have the original box with the polystyrene inserts – use this. Don’t forget to include a note with your ticket number on it as this is your unique ticket number that allows us to match the parcel we receive to the customer that sent it. It can also be used should you want any status updates from us. Also include any power adaptors or leads it originally came with and send it to our workshop via a courier of your choice (ensure adequate insurance is included to cover the value of the equipment should you wish to do so - for example, £750 cover is included with royal mail special delivery for £16.55). It’s up to you which courier service you wish to use and the level of protection (insurance cover should it be lost or damaged in transit – we are not liable for lost or damaged in transit equipment). Make sure you use a tracked service. If you have opted for collection, we will collect it. If you are local, you can drop it off at the workshop (please contact us beforehand as we may be out on a collection / delivery).
-
If you are mailing it in to us, please send the parcel to: Bare-Tech, The Gatehouse, Southgate, White Lund Industrial Estate, Morecambe, Lancashire, LA3 3PB. Do not send it to Balltec – this is another company nearby.
-
Keep hold of the receipt so you can track the progress of the parcel to us. Please also inform us, (1) when you send it, along with (2) the courier service used and (3) the tracking number so we know when to expect it.
-
Once we receive your equipment, it will be tested and graded against our criteria and as long as it matches what you told us, you will receive confirmation of the amount we offered for it. If there are any differences from the quote, such as items missing or a different grade, we will get in touch to advise you of the new quote. If you change your mind or wish to cancel, you can collect the items from us or pay for the return delivery.
-
We can then pay cash for it (if you call in to the workshop or are within a 2 mile journey from the workshop). Otherwise payment will be made by bank transfer. If you chose to donate part or all of the amount to charity. We will pass on your donation to your chosen charity on your behalf.
